PURPOSE:To obtain an adhesive composition for battery cases made of a styrenic resin, having excellent bond strength and sulfuric acid resistance, comprising a liquid epoxy resin, aromatic curing agent and a specific solvent. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition comprising (A) a liquid epoxy resin of bisphenol A base, (B) 0.5-2 equivalent (preferably 0.7-1.5 equivalent) calculated as amino group equivalent based on 1 equivalent component A of an aromatic amine curing agent such as m-phenylenediamine and (C) 1-50pts.wt. (preferably 5-40pts.wt.) based on 100pts.wt. component A of an organic solvent such as aromatic solvent, ethyl acetate or chloroform, showing solubility to styrenic resin. In order to promote bonding and curing reaction, battery cases are preferably preheated to 30-80 deg.C (preferably 40-60 deg.C). |
