PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time of a picture by combining pictures of a picture code or a character code at the same time with decoding and generating a compression code by re-encoding. CONSTITUTION:A SYNC circuit 151 counts a synchronizing signal to count the count by rows, columns, character lines and character strings. Then addresses 111, 112, 115, 116 of the rows, columns, character lines and character strings are given to obtain a desired picture element as a picture signal 113. A decoder 107 decodes a picture compression code signal 121 from a picture memory 106 synchronously with the synchronizing signal 125 in the unit of picture elements and outputs a picture signal 122. A synthesis control circuit 124 controlling the synthesis in a synthesis circuit 123 stores the areas of each block of a character picture and a compressed picture on one screen in terms of numbers of lines and dots. Both the numbers and the line number 117, the dot number 118 from the circuit 151 are compared to control the areas by using control signals G1, G2. The picture signals 113, 122 are synchronized to reproduce the picture simultaneously thereby obtaining a VIDEO 133. |
