PURPOSE:To prevent the back focusing phenomenon of a camera which can switch 'tele' and 'wide' when output from a range finding means is farther than allowable focusing range at the time of the open aperture of a wide photographing lens by driving a photographing lens to a lens position almost corresponding to an allowable focusing position. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 sets the photographing lens 4 'tele' or 'wide' by taking in and out a rear conversion lens 13 through a driving means 3. That is, when the photographing lens is set 'tele', an image-formation lens 12 is set in a specified position through the driving means 3 based on the output of the range finding means 2. When the photographing lens is set 'wide' and when the output of the range finding means 2 is farther than the allowable focusing range of a 'wide' lens, the image-formation lens 12 is set in the lens position almost corresponding to the allowable focusing range. When the output is in the allowable focusing range, the image-formation lens 12 is set in the specified position according to range finding output. Thus, the fault of the back-focusing phenomenon can be eliminated without generating other troubles. |
