PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide a cushioning ability to a polishing layer to perform a work-finishing with high accuracy by using a resin having a specific glass-transition temperature as a binder component in the polishing layer on the substrate of a polishing film. CONSTITUTION:In an optical fiber end face polishing film, a resin having glass- transition temperature below 30 deg.C contained as a binder in a polishing layer of the polishing film develops a rubber elasticity to provide a cushioning ability to the polishing layer during the time of using the film. Accordingly, even when any excessive pressure is applied to the polishing film during the time of using the polishing film, the pressure is absorbed by the rubber elasticity, and the polishing can be performed with high accuracy without being affected by the surface condition of a support of the polishing film-rear, projections produced on the surface of the film, and the entry of foreign material during the polishing operation. |
