PURPOSE:To shorten adjustment time by providing a paper pressing member which is mounted in a position distant, as specified, from the tip of a printing head and has a spherical body at the tip and a mechanism which holds the spherical body in freely rotating manner. CONSTITUTION:Printing paper 2 is wound around a platen 1, and a printing head 3 and a paper holding member 4 with a spherical tip are arranged on a carrier unit 5. In addition, the carrier unit 5 is supported by two shafts 6, 7. The carrier unit 5 makes a circular motion centering around the shaft 6 due to the rotary motion of an eccentric shaft. The paper holding member 4 is positioned with an interval A which is appropriate for printing with the printing head 3. The paper pressing member 4 is so designed as to rotate laterally and horizontally by allowing a slight gap to be provided between the spherical body and the pressing member. Appropriate paper interval can be maintained by permitting printing to be performed with the paper pressing member kept in contact with paper, and adjustment time be shortened. |
