In the case of a mop holder comprising a fastening part for a handle and a carrying part which can be inserted into a holding pocket of a textile mop, the carrying part being adjustable in its working width, i.e. in the longitudinal direction, by means of an adjusting device in such a way that the distance between two holding parts of the carrying part can be adjusted relative to one another, provision is made, in order to obtain optimum size adaptation and improved handlability, for the adjusting device to comprise a base-plate part (2) which is assigned to each holding part (3) and on which the holding part (3) is longitudinally displaceably mounted, a spring (12) being arranged between each base-plate part (2) and holding part (3) in such a way that the holding part (3) is pushed outwards away from the base-plate part (2). Holding projections (7) extending in the transverse direction are preferably provided in the region of the outer ends of the holding parts (3). <IMAGE>
