The invention describes a process for wall treatment and a wallpaper design for combating mould fungi in living and working areas, the wallpaper adhesives having a pH of less than 3.5 and/or greater than 13. A greater diffusion of the fungicidal active ingredients is achieved by means of specially perforated wallpaper. The wallpaper design provides for an isolating layer to be glued between the alkaline and acidic adhesives. The specially perforated wallpaper is only glued to this.
