PURPOSE:To decrease the number of component parts which are attached into a magneto-optical memory device main body and to stabilize the recording and erasing actions, etc., by mounting an external magnetic field part and its drive mechanism to a cartridge holder. CONSTITUTION:An external magnetic field part 85 is mounted to a cartridge holder 20 together with a drive mechanism 93 which drives the part 85 at selection of the polarity of the part 85. As a result, the number of the component parts attached into a magneto-optical memory device main body can be decreased. Furthermore the part 85 and the holder 20 are unified into an one unit so as to avoid the change of the relative position between the part 85 and a magneto-optical memory medium 10 set in a cartridge 2 due to the vibrations, etc., caused in an active state of the part 85. As a result, the recording and erasing actions, etc., can be stabilized. |
