Construction of pneumatic tyre carcasses

Tyre carcasses are constructed by continuously winding a reinforcing material onto an annular mandrel and this is secured by wrapping round the beads. The arrangement provides a favourable position of the reinforcement within the carcass, and it is led through a section of the other side of the mandrel and separated at the inner periphery of the mandrel by an incision. Th eend s are then wound onto the bead conventionally.
