1310673 Moulding facings LEYLAND INDUSTRIAL HOMES Ltd 25 March 1970 [26 March 1969] 15748/69 Heading B5A A method of producing a facing for surfaces of building materials includes the steps of mixing an unsaturated polyester or epoxy resin and sand to produce a paste, adding a catalyst or hardener, pouring the mixture into one or more moulds to shape the material into sheet or slot form and then causing sand to adhere to the free surface of the or each mass of material in the or each mould, before hardening and drying is complete, and then air-curing the product. After completion the non-decorative face of the facing may be applied to a non-hardened coated surface of a panel, wall or similar building structural part of plywood or other material. The receiving surface is coated with an unsaturated polyester or epoxy resin reinforced with glass fibre matt. |
