PURPOSE:To obtain the title device being small in size and low in cost and having high reliability and safety by providing a doctor blade for scraping down an excess portion of a liquid developer supplied to the surface of a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:A developing roller 11 is a developing roller placed so as to provide a prescribed gap between the roller and a photosensitive drum 12, and formed by a hydrophilic material such as Ni, SiO2, glass, etc., or subjected to surface treatment, and a developer 16 is allowed to adhere to the whole surface by immersing its surface into the developer 16 in a minute gap 13. In this case, a developer layer shaped to prescribed film thickness by a doctor blade 23 is formed. The doctor blade 23 is formed by allowing a rubber plate, plastic, stainless steel, etc., to bring into contact with the developing roller. In such a way, even if the device is rolled, the developer is not split, and that which is extremely low in cost and has high safety and reliability is obtained. |
