PURPOSE:To suppress power consumption, by judging power supply OFF data from the input data from main body machinery and turning a power supply part OFF corresponding to said data or bringing the circuit in a recording apparatus to a low power consumption state. CONSTITUTION:The document data (dot pattern data) prepared in main body machinery 200 is sent to a head printer 100 through a data signal line 11 when a data ready signal 12 is a high level. A predetermined amount of printing data is stored in a data memory 102 and a start switch indicating the start of printing is turned ON to start the manual scanning of the head printer 100 to start printing. In the format of transmitted data, block data 40 shows a block number by higher rank 4 bits and the total number of blocks by lower rank 4 bits. The main body machinery 200 sets all of the bits of the block data 40 to '0' to inform a power saving mode to the hand printer 100. When this power saving mode is received during processing, a control part 101 stops the output of a voltage converter circuit 105 and performs power saving processing to finish printing. |
