Method for controlling an intercom system

An intercom system is intended to be able to be controlled with the operating elements of terminals connected to a switching system, the same operating procedures being performed as those which are performed in setting up, for example, telephone connections. The intercom system is connected via interfaces directly to a communications switching system, e.g. a multi-user dealing room system. The control commands which are formed by the operating elements of the terminals connected to the switching system are forwarded by the central control device of this switching system directly to the intercom system. The method offers particular advantages if operators on workstations or answering stations, in particular multi-user dealing room systems, are able to speak directly to one another and set up the required connection using conventional operating procedures at the same terminal.
