<p>The apparatus is for rapidly freezing liquids, including those containing solids. The liquid medium is fed, via a longitudinal slit, under high vacuum and with rapid extraction of water-vapour, into a chamber, to momentarily freeze the liquid into expanded lumps of ice, which are then broken down to particles. The frozen particles of ice, with 80% or less of their moisture removed, are then subjected to further demoisturisation under the same vacuum, and the same water-vapour extraction conditions.</p> |
