<p>PURPOSE:To transmit additional signals regardless of moving or still pictures by deleting the high band component of the luminance signal of a NTSC signal for addition of a color TV signal for additional information and limiting the band of a spectrum increasing component in a moving picture state. CONSTITUTION:The oblique high band component of the luminance signal of an existing NTSC signal is deleted and orthogonal amplitude modulation and then the multiplexing of frequency are applied to a color TV signal for additional information having its compressed band by means of said area where the oblique high-band component is deleted. Then the band limitation is applied to the component of said luminance signal with which the spectrum is expanded to the area where the oblique high band component produced in a moving picture state is deleted. Thus it is known that the band where the oblique high-band component of the luminance signal exists is not effectively utilized in terms of visual sense. Therefore, the color TV signal for additional information, even though superposed on said area, is not easily recognized in terms of the visual sense. Thus the existing NTSC signal is not disturbed. Furthermore, the additional signals can be transmitted even in a moving picture state because band limitation is applied to the component with which the spectrum is expanded to a deleted area in the moving picture state.</p> |
