1,233,816. Tree shearing. DEERE & CO. 19 June, 1969 [20 June, 1968], No. 31092/69. Heading A1E. A tree shearing device in which two levers are pivotally mounted on a frame about a vertical axis, and a pair of horizontal blades pivotally mounted one on each lever, and guide means on the frame for causing the blades to pivot relative to the lever comprises two 3 point levers 42, 43 attached to a transverse frame 23 attached to longitudinal mounting means, such as a boom, on the tractor. The levers are pivoted at 40, 41 and controlled by hydraulic motor 70. The other ends of the levers 42, 47 have brackets 58, 59 pivoted at pivots 52, 53, said brackets holding semicircular blades 50, 51 having sharpened edges 53, 54. The peripheries of the blades 50, 51 abut against cams 65 which cause the blades to move together with their edges 53, 54 substantially parallel when cutting a tree but when fully open the edges of the blades diverge slightly. Arcuate members 28, controlled by hydraulic motor 35, grip the tree when cutting. Abutment members 75, 76, 77, 78 limit the extent of opening and closing of blades 50, 51.
|
