PURPOSE: To remove the coat remaining in the channels of a honeycombed catalyst carrier by disposing a collecting chamber having an outflow section below this catalyst carrier, disposing a plate moving by having vent slits at the top end face of the carrier and coupling a sepn. vessel to the outflow section described above. CONSTITUTION: The collecting chamber 1 sealing and enclosing the lower peripheral surface of the honeycombed catalyst carrier 2 is provided with the outflow section 7. The plate 4 moving in tight placement on the top end face of the carrier 2 is provided with the vent slits 4, 1 successively rubbing all the channels of the carrier 2 at the time of moving of the plate 4. Further, the sepn. vessel 5 for separating the washcoat is disposed with a suction valve 6 in the upper side part. In addition, a supply pipe 8 for the washcoat and air coupled to the outflow section 7 and a discharge pipe 13 communicating a sucking out fan 9 are opened therein. Further, a discharge pipe piece 11 communicating a liquid pump 12 is arranged at the bottom. Consequently, the washcoat remaining in the channels of the freshly coated monolithic or honeycombed catalyst carrier may be removed without the impairment of the environment. |
