PURPOSE:To transfer onto a transfer paper without deteriorating the surface of a photoconductive body by driving an interrupting means which interrupt the electrostatic charge to the parts other than the facing part of the photoconductive body and the transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:At the time of transferring, the surface of the transfer paper is electrostatically charged from the back side of the transfer paper 84 by an electrostatic charge means for transferring, and the image is transferred by the charged pigment grains on the photoconductive body being adsorbed onto the surface of the transfer paper 84. At the time, the interrupting means 102 and 104 are driven by driving control means 93 and 94 based on the results of a detecting means, and the electrostatic charge by the electrifying means for transferring is interrupted in the parts other than the facing part of the photoconductive body 54 and the transfer paper 84. Thus the electrostatic charge to the surface of the photoconductive body can be interrupted at the time of transferring, and transferring can be carried out to the transfer paper without deteriorating the surface of the photoconductive body. |
