PURPOSE:To easily recover printing operations automatically from the page, until the preceding page of which transfer is completed when a fault occurs, without any operation of an operator for designating the printing operation restarting page by managing printing page data in both phases of exposure and transfer. CONSTITUTION:Data sent from a host are stored in a page buffer (PB) 1-1, and when the stored data reach at least one-page quantity, the data are developed in a developing memory 1-2 and printing operations are started. In accordance with information from a feeding system drive detecting section 4 and optical system drive detecting section 5, a device controlling section 3 sets the factor of exposure or transfer completion in an event register 2-2 and an interrupt flip flop 2-1 and issues an interrupt to a control section 1. The control section 1 updates a phase recognizing section 1-3 so that the current phase can be read out anytime and, when a fault occurs and the section 1 recognizes that the fault requires page recovery, reads out the current phase information from the section 1-3 and informs the host of the number of transferred pages. Therefore, the host resends the data from the page next to the reported page. |
