<p>Process for the prepn. of acetylene, ethylene and vinyl chloride thereform comprises (a) pyrolysing a hydrocarbon material to give a gas contg. acetylene and ethylene by passing the hydrocarbon material into steam at 1600-2300 deg.C, the hydrocarbon material pref. being a gas discharged at a later stage in the process, (b) removing carbonaceous components, carry components and higher hydrocarbons with 3 or more C atoms from the product gas, (c) reacting hydrogen chloride with the purified pdt. gas in order to convert acetylene into vinyl chloride, (d) removing the formed vinyl chloride, (e) opt. reacting chlorine with the residual gas remaining in the pdt. gas after removal of acetylene, in order to convert ethylene into ethylene dichloride, (f) pyrolysing the separated ethylene dichloride to form vinyl chloride and hydrocarbon material, and (g) utilising the discharge gas from stage (e) for reaction (a), and the formed hydrogen chloride from stage (f) for reaction (c).</p> |
