PURPOSE:To automatically remove cutting bur generated at the lower edge of the cut surface of a cast piece which is produced by a continuous casting machine and has a large width, with high efficiency with the use of a cutter movable in the direction of crossing and as well outward from the lower edge, when two cast piece having a predetermined size are manufactured from the large width cast piece. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of carrier rollers 3 for longitudinally moving a cast piece 1 which is cut to a predetermined size along the longitudinal direction thereof, supports the cast piece 1. In a predetermined position between the rollers 3, 3 there is provided a cutting machine A having a horizontally reciprocatingable cutter 4 which is elevatable and extends crossing the cut surface 1a of the cast piece 1, having its shear point extending in the direction substantially corresponding to the cut bur 2 of the cast piece 1. Then, when cutter vehicles 5, 5 are reciprocated by simultaneously actuating cylinders 7, 7 provided on beds 6, 6, the bur of the cast piece 1 is automatically removed with high efficiency by the cutter 4. |
