摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce bit rate at the time of the transmission of data by constituting LXM-pieces of three-dimensional blocks including lXmXn-pieces of picture elements by integrating (n) field of every same kind of field and orthogonal- transforming and vector-quantizing them. CONSTITUTION:After a luminance signal coming to an input terminal 30a is quantized into, for instance, the digital signal of 8-bits in an A/D converter (ADC) 31a, it is written in a memory 32a. The memory 32a stores continuous (n) frames (for instance, 4 frames) as separating them into even number fields and odd number fields, and simultaneously, it divides one field into LXM-pieces of parts having lXm-pieces of the picture elements. Further, as for the respective (n) fields of the even number and the odd number stored in the memory 32a, the parts divided by such a way and corresponding to each other are made to be one block having lXmXn-pieces of the picture elements. Three- dimensional block picture data obtained by such a way is processed by well- known orthogonal transformation by an orthogonal transformer 33a.</p>
