The invention relates to a clutch for changing operating conditions, in particular a two-mass flywheel for mounting on an internal combustion engine, having two clutch halves, which are connected via elastic elements for the transmission of a torque. Provided in the clutch are two friction elements, one on each of the two clutch halves, and these rub against one another and hence cause frictional damping. According to the invention, the damping force is varied by varying the contour of the frictional surface for one of the friction elements over the angle of rotation. A built-in spring is thereby subjected to differing prestresses, making possible adaptation of the frictional damping to the operating requirements of the engine concerned. In a special development of the invention, hydraulic damping that can be varied over the angle of rotation in a displacement chamber is furthermore possible.
