<p>Handling equipment for large drums for the storage of drilling pipes or pipelines for loading or unloading oil from a floating vessel or drilling platform, comprises two lifting devices designed to be placed in the immediate vicinity of the two flanges of the drum, each such device consisting of a carriage, able to slide vertically along two vertical pillars mounted on a base plate and with bearings in which a support shaft for the drum can be removably engaged, with means for adjusting the level of the carriages by sliding them vertically along the pillars and with means for drive and control of the rotation of the drum round its support shaft.</p> |
