PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device which is free from deformation, deterioration, and light leakage of a filter by surrounding a lamp with a frame and a lamp case which are made of good heat conductors, pressing and supporting the filter on the frame body at an interval, and allowing the filter to slide at the time of its thermal deformation. CONSTITUTION:The lamp 1b is surrounded with the frame 9 and lamp case 7b and the majority of generated heat is conducted to a decoration plate 10 through frame ends 9c and 9d and a spacer 11 and conducted to the lamp case 7b; and the heat is radiated to the air from their external surfaces and hardly conducted to the filter 4b, which does not deform thermally. The thermal expansion size difference between the frame 9 and filter 4b is absorbed in a gap (c) because of a slide among the dish-shaped internal surface of the frame 9, the filter surface, and the decoration plate pressure part of a liquid crystal display plate 2, and no impression is left. Further, the frame 9 and lamp case 7a are made of the same materials and have no relative size difference against temperature variation and no light leaks at the part where the lamp case 7b contacts the external surface of the frame 9. |
