The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for determining the length of flight of bodies moving on flight paths, jump trajectories and projectile trajectories, in particular for determining the length of jumps in ski jumping. The aim is to provide an arrangement and a method in which mobile equipment can be used without additional devices on the moving bodies to determine length in a manner which is objective and can be subsequently checked, and in the case of which a high interference immunity is ensured at the same time. The object is achieved when the current surface profile is geodetically determined before the length, the ground scene is followed by the survey (mapping) camera, for the pictures of which the data of the inner and outer orientation are known, and these data are stored, supplemented by the position values of the camera positions, and used to determine the length. The result can subsequently be determined or monitored afresh at any time.
