In the case of telecommunications cables having angled plugs, it is desirable to provide an extension cable in order that inadvertent disconnection of the cable is made more difficult. A socket arrangement for a telecommunications cable provides a flat socket housing (5) which is constructed such that it can be divided in the plane of the plug and has opening flaps (6, 7) which can be closed, enclose the angled plug (3) in the plugged-together state and are provided with a cut-out (8) for the plug cable (2) to pass through, the socket housing (5) furthermore having a cut-out (9) for the socket cable (10) to pass through, which cut-out (9) is essentially coaxially opposite the cut-out (8) for the plug cable (2).
