Method for the non-destructive testing of stone (brick) decay

In a method for the non-destructive testing of layer separations in stones (bricks) in stone decay as well as for measuring the bonding of coatings against stone decay, the thermal radiation reflected by a specimen is registered. In this case the specimen is first warmed by an external heat source, a temperature profile of the surface of the specimen is subsequently taken after a waiting time in the seconds range and this profile is tested with regard to the occurrence of local inhomogeneities in the form of temperature peaks suggesting the presence of layer separations.
