FOAM-INHIBITOR USED IN PRODUCTION WORKING OR FERMENTATION PROCESS

PURPOSE: To execute efficient foam suppression by using an antifoaming agent consisting of a specific terminally blocked alcohol oligoglycolether in food manufacturing, processing and fermenting stages. CONSTITUTION: The terminally blocked alcohol oligoglycolether expressed by formula (I) [where R is a branched 6-28C alkyl or alkenyl group; R<1> is a straight chain 1-8C alkyl group; (n) is 2 to 10] is used as the antifoaming agent in the food manufacturing, processing and fermenting stages. The antifoaming agent has excellent antifoaming performance and the effect thereof persists for a long time.
