<p>This transformer is inserted between a generator (12) of electromagnetic waves and a circular exit waveguide (8) propagating the TE01 mode. It is made up by placing in series the following waveguides: - a rectangular waveguide (1), one of the ends (3) of which is closed; - a circular waveguide (4) propagating the TM01 mode, and connected to the rectangular guide by a lateral opening (7) in such a way that the axes of the two waveguides are perpendicular; - a group of intermediate waveguides (15) placed after the circular waveguide (4) and distributed in a ring ahead of its free end. Each intermediate waveguide (15) consists of a succession of waveguide segments (5, 5', 5'', ...5<n-1>) operating in the rectangular TE10 mode and progressively rotationally offset in the same direction relative to one another. The overall offset between the segments of a particular intermediate guide is 90 DEG . Application to the conversion of modes in high-power microwave energy transmission circuits. <IMAGE></p> |
