PURPOSE:To obtain an photosensitive body excellent in electrostatic characteristics, especially in sensitivity by incorporating a specified azo pigment in a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate contains at least one or two of the azo pigments represented by the formula shown on the right in which A is an optionally substituted condensed polycyclic group; pyridine ring group, diazine ring group, quinoline ring group, or benzodiazine group, and Cp is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group, thus permitting said pigment to function as a photoconductor and to generate electric charge carriers at extremely high efficiency, and to enhance sensitivity of the photosensitive body, also in the wavelength region up to the long wavelength region, and accordingly, to be favorably used for laser beam printers, LED printers, liquid crystal printers, and the like. |
