PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic porous body which is lightweight and has excellent mechanical strength, impact strength and sound absorbing effect by forming a three dimensional network porous metal having connected holes onto both sides of a foaming metal formed with the integrated body of independent bubbles by shot blasting. CONSTITUTION:Both sides of the foaming metallic plate cut from the ingot of the foaming metal consisting of the integrated body (having a cell structure) of many independent bubbles are subjected to shot blasting and a part of the metallic shell of each independent bubble (in the wall surface of the bubbles) is damaged to connect the each independent bubble each other to form a three- dimensional network porous metal. The foaming metal and porous metal are formed from the same kind of metal and are preferably formed from Al, Mg, Zn, Sn, Cu, Pb, Ni and either the alloys thereamong. By this method, the porous body having excellent mechanical characteristics, impact resistance, sound absorbing effect, etc., can be obtd. |
