PURPOSE:To enhance rub resistance and heat resistance, by a method wherein a thermal recording medium is made of a transfer sheet having a leuco dye- containing transfer layer on a substrate and an accepting sheet having an accepting layer containing an ultrafine particle-form silica on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet is formed by laminating a transfer layer containing a leuco dye on a substrate. On the other hand, an accepting sheet is formed by providing an accepting layer mainly composed of a color developer catalytically reacting with the leuco dye to produce a color on a substrate and incorporating a ultrafine particle-form silica with an average particle diameter of 5-50mum and a surface area of 150-400 m<2>/g by a BET method in the accepting layer. By using these transfer sheet and accepting sheet in combination, a thermal recording medium is composed. The color developer and the ultrafine particle-form silica are preferably used in the ratio of 0.005-0.5 pts.wt. to 1 pts.wt. of the color developer. |
