PURPOSE:To prevent generation of galling, etc., of molds for molding by the thermal expansion thereof and to expand the selection width of the materials to be used for a cutting member for cutting the excess parts of a glass stock and the molds for molding by providing a holding part for adjusting the spacing between the mold and the cutting member to a prescribed size between both. CONSTITUTION:The following constitution is adopted for the device for molding optical elements having the molds 5, 6 for press molding of the molten glass stock and the cutting member 7 which is provided on the outside circumference of the mold 6 apart a prescribed spacing 42 therefrom and cuts the excess part of the glass stock: The prescribed spacing between the mold 6 and the optical member 7 in the inside circumference of the blade head part 7a of the cutting member 7 is set at a slight gap 24 and the holding member 40 for maintaining the gap 24 in the inside circumference of the blade head part 7a at the prescribed size is inserted into the spacing 42 between the cutting member 7 and the mold 6 while said member is kept held to a base body 10 of the molding device. |
