PURPOSE:To simply supply an electrolyte to a matrix with no leakage by providing a metallic frame storing the electrolyte on the end periphery of the matrix layer holding the electrolyte in a fused carbonate type fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A metallic frame 12 is closely stuck to the end periphery of a matrix layer 1, a storage bag 12b containing an electrolyte 13 is stored in it. The electrolyte 13 is dissolved by the heating caused by the cell operation and infiltrates into the matrix layer 1 by the capillary phenomenon. Small holes 12c are provided on the metallic frame 12 and compensate the pressure reduction of the storage bag 12b due to the electrolyte movement. The metal forming the metallic frame 12 has the electric resistance larger than that of the matrix layer 1, an iron metal containing at least Cr 19-21wt.% and Al 4-6wt.% is oxidized at a high temperature for its composition. |
