PURPOSE:To obtain metal carbonate having high purity, by reacting oxide, hydroxide or basic carbonate of specified metals with ammonium hydrogen carbonate and water under a specified condition. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of the oxide, hydroxide and basic carbonate of the metal selected among zinc, iron, lead, cadmium, calcium, cobalt, copper, barium, magnesium, manganese and lithium is reacted with the ammonium hydrogen carbonate and water under the condition of 100-200 deg.C and 20-30kg/cm<2> to obtain the targeted metal carbonate. Under the condition of 100-200 deg.C, the added ammonium hydrogen carbonate is decomposed into NH3<+> gas, CO2 gas and water to keep the liq. in a neutral range and to efficiently react the oxide, hydroxide and/or basic carbonate with carbon dioxide under high pressure due to the difference of specific gravity between NH3<+> gas and CO2 gas. |
