Method and apparatus for room cooling

Method for cooling a room to be occupied by people. Room air to be cooled flows through at least one convection duct, in which, after passing at least one heat exchanger which is arranged in an upper region of the convection duct and through which cold water flows, it increases its specific gravity as a result of the cooling effected thereby, and flows through a vertically downward-leading shaft of the convection duct. It then flows back into the room as cold air at or close to the floor of the room and during this process is at least partly moved in the upward direction by at least one blast air jet.
