<p>A vehicle braking control system (10) automatically maintains application of the brakes of a vehicle when a vehicle door is opened and for a predetermined period of time after the door is closed to prevent movement of the vehicle and injury which might result to individuals who are waiting to board the vehicle or who have disembarked from the vehicle. The braking control systen (10) includes a solenoid valve (12) coupled with a brake line (14, 16) of a vehicle for maintaining applied braking pressure. A switch (46) is coupled with the vehicle door and moves the solenoid valve (12) to a first position blocking flow of brake fluid when the door is open. A timer (36) coupled with the solenoid valve (12) maintains the solenoid valve (12) in the first position for a predetermined period of time after the door has been closed.</p> |
