A work-holding fixture for a sawing appliance or the like, in which the sawing appliance has a work-supporting table (2), if need be a stop strip (3), attached to the work-supporting table (2), for the workpiece, and a screw-in mounting or another fastening, in or on the work-supporting table (2) or in or on the stop strip (3), for the work-holding fixture (5), having a clamping shank (7) which can be screwed into the screw-in mounting or is fastened in another manner, a bridge-shaped clamping bracket (9) which runs transversely to the clamping shank (7), is penetrated by the clamping shank (7) in an opening and has a clamping end (10) sitting on the workpiece and an opposite abutment (11), and a restoring spring (13) pressing the clamping bracket (9) up against a stop (12) on the clamping shank (7). The work-holding fixture is improved in terms of manipulation and simplified in terms of design owing to the fact that a pivot bearing with a real or virtual pivot axis lying transversely to both the clamping shank (7) and the clamping bracket (9) is formed between the clamping shank (7) and the restoring spring (13) on the one hand and the clamping bracket (9) on the other hand, and the opening is widened in such a way as to merely permit pivoting, and that lifting or lowering of the clamping end (10) of the clamping bracket (9) is effected by simultaneous lifting or lowering and pivoting of the clamping bracket (9) about the pivot axis. <IMAGE>
