发明名称 ELECTROTHERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide clear images free of ground fogging or lowering in density, even upon transferring onto a large number of sheets, by applying a voltage to exude a liquid ink contained in a polymer gel layer, transferring the exuded ink onto a recording material to achieve recording, and setting the feeding velocity of the recording medium to be lower than a recording speed. CONSTITUTION:A polymer gel layer is provided on a conductive base. With a voltage applied between a recording electrode 4 and a return circuit electrode 5, the polymer gel layer shrinks at parts corresponding to a recording signal, whereby a liquid ink contained in the layer is exuded, and is transferred onto a recording material 6. The feeding velocity of the recording material 6 is controlled to be lower than that of a recording medium 3, thereby providing clear images with little ground fogging or lowering in density, even upon trans ferring onto a large number of sheets. When the liquid ink is transferred onto the recording material 6 to achieve recording and a voltage opposite in polarity to the voltage used for recording is applied, the liquid ink in the polymer gel layer can be supplied efficiently, so that uniform clear images with less lowering in image density can be obtained.
