PURPOSE:To obtain always constant values of optimum transverse rigidity irrespectively of the width of rolled plates by controlling the transverse rigidity of rolling mills in accordance with plate crown ratios and longitudinal ridigity. CONSTITUTION:Rolling forces are detected with a load cell 19 and said forces are multipled by the coefft. alpha of transverse rigidity in a coefft. device 20 for transverse rigidity and are inputted to function devices 21, 22. In the devices 21, 22, the forces are multiplied respectively by the functions KB/Q, KV/Q, so that the set pressure PB for bending is calculated in the device 21 and the inside pressure PV of backup rolls in the device 22, respectively with predetermined ratio distributions. The value of the force PB is fed to a servocontrol amplifier 11, by which benders 6, 7 are controlled. The value of the pressure PV is fed to a servocontrol amplifier 6, by which the surface profiles of backup rolls 3, 4 are controlled. In such a way, the transverse rigidity of the rolling mills are controlled by the variable control of the values of the PB', PV. |
