摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent coagulation of ink in a nozzle more effectively as compared to the conventional capping mechanism by sending a hot blast into an insulating liquid chamber of a cap and promoting evaporation of the insulating liquid through the heating of the interior of the chamber. CONSTITUTION:At the subject capping mechanism, valves 5, 8 are opened and air is fed into an insulating liquid chamber 3 of a cap 2 from an air pump 6 through pipe 7 by closing a nozzle face 1 tightly. At that time, if an electric current is applied to a thermoelectric resistance element 4, the pipe 7 is heated and the heated air is fed into the insulating liquid chamber 3. After that, the valve is closed and then the valve 5 is closed to return the insulating liquid chamber 3 to a tightly closed state. Consequently, the evaporation of the insulating liquid is promoted by introduction of the heated air and thereby the drying and coagulation of ink in an ink jet head 10 are prevented.
