PURPOSE:To protect a device even from weak voltage and small currents by the disconnection, etc., of connecting wires among oxide superconductors by detecting abnormality in a current limiter body by a sensor and turning a breaker connected in series with the superconducting current limiter ON-OFF. CONSTITUTION:A current limiting element 2, liquid nitrogen 4 as a refrigerant, etc., are housed into a heat-insulating vessel 9, and the heat-insulating vessel 9 is further housed into a tank 1 through the vacuum layer 9. Voltage detectors 21 are mounted to bushings 5 for extracting potential wires for a current limiter to the outside, and voltage detected by the voltage detectors 21 is transferred to a decision device 23 through a voltage comparator 22. Abnormality in the current limiter is determined by the decision device 23, and a switch 13 connected in series with the current limiter is switching-controlled. |
