PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of the voltage withstanding characteristic by setting the processing roughness on the surfaces of contacts for a vacuum valve to the preset value or below, brazing contact members to conducting shafts, then assembling the whole vacuum valve. CONSTITUTION:A fixed contact 5 and a movable contact 7 are brazed to conducting shafts 4 and 6 in an insulated container 1. Both contacts are made of a sintered alloy and contain a high-conductivity component such as Ag or Cu for its component. The contact alloy is formed so that the upper limit of the processing roughness on its surface becomes 6mum, it is brazed to the conducting shafts at the brazing temperature of 830 deg.C-1000 deg.C, then they are assembled in a valve. No selective evaporation phenomenon occurs on Ag or Cu during the brazing processing by this method, thereby the contact alloy is rarely cracked or flawed on the surface during the opening and closing operations of contacts, the reduction of the voltage withstanding characteristic is prevented. |
