PURPOSE:To contrive the effective use of a printing head by reversing the mounting attitude of the printing head, by a method wherein a substrate terminal and a carriage mounting part are disposed on at least one of set positions symmetrical with respect to the center of the printing head. CONSTITUTION:At the shipping of a printer, a printing head 1 is mounted in a manner that A-surfaces of carriage mounting parts 3a, 3b abut on a carriage, and a substrate terminal 2a is connected to a connector of a printer body. If a printing wire 4 is broken when a user conducts printing, the printing head 1 is detached from the carriage. The printing head 1 is mounted with its mounting attitude reversed so that surfaces B of the carriage mounting parts 3a, 3b abut on the carriage, and a substrate terminal 2b is connected to the connector of the printer body. Namely, a printing is conducted with the printing head 1 mounted vertically reversed. Even if the printing wire 4 is not broken, the mounting attitude of the printing head 1 is periodically reversed; in this manner, the life of the printing head 1 is enhanced because of the nearly uniform use of the respective printing wires 4. |
