<p>A thyristor retains a higher active area without detrimental effect on its breakdown voltage if it is surrounded by a polarised layer which shrouds the inclined side suface. The polarised layer contains near this surface electrostatic harges with a polarity opposite to that of the space charge in the barrier layer of the lower-doped zone (of the n-base).</p> |
