In a motorcycle hydraulic brake system, in which pressure can be applied to a rear wheel brake and a front wheel brake from a foot-operated master cylinder (5) and to a further front wheel brake by means of a hand-operated master cylinder (2), and in which the pressure applied to the rear wheel brake can be reduced by a brake pressure control device (17) as a function of pressure generated by the hand-operated master cylinder (2), the rear wheel and front wheel brakes, operated by the foot-operated master cylinder (5), being provided with an ABS system, and the brake system being provided with a brake light switch (22) and with an ABS warning light (23) and an ABS circuit breaker (24), the invention achieves the object of providing the separate, hand-operated front brake without ABS control with a coupling to the integral brake system which disables the ABS system when the separate front brake is operated. The invention is characterised in that in the operating position the brake light switch (22) assigned to the hand-operated master cylinder (2) triggers the ABS circuit breaker (24) and the ABS warning light (23) signalling the cut-out of the ABS system. <IMAGE>
