摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a vehicle engine gasket with increased thermal conductivity by mechanically retaining a first facing layer formed of a material having a relatively high degree of thermal conductivity and a second facing layer formed of a relatively compressible material by a plurality of retaining means. CONSTITUTION: A gasket 10 comprises a first facing layer 24 formed of a material having a relatively high degree of thermal conductivity and a second facing layer 25 formed of a relatively compressible material on a side opposite to the first facing layer 25 with respect to a core 17. Then, both facing layers 24, 25 are mechanically attached to the core 17. Tangs 19, 20 are fit into the first facing layer 24, and tangs 22, 23 are fit into the second facing layer 25 so as to form a structure wherein each of the facing layers 24, 25 is mechanically retained in the state adjacent to the core 17. Further, the outer face of the second facing layer 25 is coated with an elastic seal material useful to seal adjacent metal surfaces such as a bed or a block.
