PURPOSE:To make a liquid detection sensor compact and to arrange it even in a narrow place to be detected by connecting an incidence fiber and a projection fiber to the same surface of an optical prism. CONSTITUTION:The measurement light projected by the incidence fiber 22 is normally reflected totally by a reflecting surface 25 through a lens, converged by a lens, and guided to the projection fiber 23, and consequently a preset light intensity level is detected, so that a detection part 27 confirms that on liquid is in contact. If a liquid leak is caused owing to an unexpected accident, etc., and the detection part 27 contacts liquid, the contacting liquid is larger in refractive index than air which contacts it normally, so the reflecting surface 25 enters a partial reflecting state. Then, the reflected light which is guided to the projection optical fiber 23 decreases in its intensity level, which is detected as the liquid leak. Then the incidence fiber 22 and projection fiber 23 are connected to and arranged on the same surface, i.e. incidence/projection surface 24 of the optical prism 21. |
