PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively a thermal fusion type image-receiving paper capable of obtaining a clear image, by providing an image-receiving layer by applying an emulsion, latex, aqueous solution or the like comprising water as a dispersant to a thin hydrophobic layer provided on a general coated paper. CONSTITUTION:A gravure ink, offset ink, varnish or the like comprising a solvent (exclusive of alcohols) or not comprising any solvent is applied to the surface of a general coated paper comprising an aqueous coat layer 2 on a paper 1, by an offset or gravure printing system or by coating to provide a thin hydrophobic layer 3. Further, an image-receiving layer 4 formed from a water-soluble resin, an emulsion, a latex or the like is provided on the layer 3 in a predetermined thickness by aqueous coating. The image-receiving paper thus obtained is excellent in flatness, smoothness and affinity for an ink wax, has gloss, is free of possibility of formation of voids in images transferred, and is capable of obtaining clear images with favorable dot sharpness. The thickness of the image-receiving layer is preferably 5-10mum. |
